The Moon
Believed by those of many faiths, possesses some sort of effect upon Earth and the inhabitants. It is the closest of the Stellar bodies so the effects we feel and see are more obvious, yet, at the same time those effects are rapidly changing, sometimes making things less obvious.
The Moon is also the swiftest moving body, spending roughly 2 days in each of the signs of the Zodiac. On occasion, the Moon will form a geometrical aspect with another planet, creating a more complex effect.
Lunar Weather For December/January
New Moon to Last Quarter

New Moon ~ Dec 27th 2008 in the sign of Capricorn Snow Moon.
The Moon has it’s heaviest engagement with the planets Sun, Mars and Pluto.
Word of caution to all the empaths out there, be sure to guard yourself very well from the 25th to the 31st. This can be a very tense and disturbing time, a time of conflict, loss and financial difficulties. So be creative with your holiday celebrations.
This is a very emotional time and people’s nerves will be very sensitive. Those that tend to withdraw most of the time may suddenly explode and those that seem strong may have a breakdown.
Does not seem like much of a forecast from the stars considering the typical energies associated with the holidays. Perhaps this energy has always been a contributing factor. Some years are better than other years, those being the years where the New Moon is farther from the H-day and has less challenging aspects to work with. And, dare I make the prediction that some sort of big power struggle comes out of this conjunction on a national or global level?
One can take control of this energy and deconstruct or remove something from their lives, be it physical or spiritual in nature, something with the self, or something with in the community.
Recognition of this potential energy can help see one through it. Surrounding oneself with things that bring comfort and pleasure brings balance and grounding.

First quarter Moon on Jan 4th 2009 in the sign of Aries
The energies in this phase are favorable for taking the initiative in any area of life, yet some of the same difficult dynamics that came with the conjunction of the Moon, Sun and Mars, lingers in this phase. Where the New Moon brought the Cause, the First quarter brings the Effect. This is when the frustrations are felt while ‘cleaning up’ the mess. This is the aftermath. The energies brought by the aspect between Mercury and the Moon will be subtle, but this makes an easy time to talk about the emotions that have been felt recently. The energies are open and receptive to expressing one’s needs.

Full Moon on Jan 11th occurs in Cancer
Wolf Moon.
Everyone knows that Full Moons are wacky, more crime, more babies, etc. Why this happens is because the Sun and the Moon are on opposite sides of the Earth. It can seem like a galactic tug of war or the moment of stillness found with total balance.
This is the Moon where everyone just really wants to stay at home. Unfortunately, most of the craziness will occur just after the Full Moon.
One’s instinct or intuition will be heightened more than usual and it is a good time for omens. So keep your eyes open, or be brave and ask for a specific sign and see what happens. The urge to change something in the home may come about, rearrange the furniture or paint the bathroom, go for it!

Last Quarter on Jan 18th in the sign of Libra
The Moon has a bit of a time with the planets Mercury and Jupiter.
Those who are in school will feel a bit of pressure during this Moon phase. If you have the habit of frying electrical equipment, I suggest you let some one else make your toast.
Dreams will be very active and psychically charged, especially if you are a Libra Moon.
